Today I came home to my Fiancée telling me that our Internet connection has started to shit itself again. Hoo-fucking-ray.
Some of you know of my woes with dealing with my Internet connection over the last three years, with several line faults that get rectified only to fall faulty again as soon as a bit of shitty weather hits. Well, it’s happened again and it seems to be the same issue as the last two occasions it’s happened.
So I’ve spent the last hour and a half attempting to diagnose, and troubleshoot my connection to no avail. Right now, it seems as though it’s a vicious cycle (as much as my Missus hates that phrase). Fine. Fine. Fault. Fixed. Fine. Fine. Fault. Fixed. Fine. Only this time, it’s a permanent thing as it’s highly unlikely that a fault will be entertained with NBN (apparently) being close to ready for service in my area under Hybrid-Fibre Coaxial (HFC). The expected date is the 5th of May that the first services locally will start getting ye old switch flicked, but again, this can be delayed.
With that folks, it looks as though I’ll not be streaming over the next few weeks and until my NBN connection is here, however long that may be. My upstream is no longer sufficient enough for me to even consider opening X-Split, and don’t get me started on the stability.
